API - Sending a document for signing using a template

New Here ,
Oct 10, 2025 Oct 10, 2025

Hello everyone, i hope somebody will see this as i am in a hurry, our company needs to decide if Adobe Sign is the correct solution for us, but in my testing i can not get something simple to work.

So basically, i uploaded a template document, added some fields (locked them and assigned them to "any participant"), created a signature field and all is fine and well.

But, when i send out the document via my account using an API call, prefill the fields and set the status to "IN_PROCESS", the document does not get sent because i need to "fill out" something and it gets stuck in the "Waiting for you" status.

Is it possible to skip the "Fill out" portion of the document when i am already populating the fields via an API and directly send out the document out via email?

Note: There is an option when doing this manually, a "Send now" button, which has the functionality i am looking for, but i can not find the same in the API documentation.

Thank you in advance!
