Date formatting changes when uploading Excel file to adobe sign

We upload Excel files to Adobe sign in order to sign them. However, there is a date cell in the Excel sheets formatted as dd-mm-yyyy. When uploading to adobe sign, it automatically changes the date format to mm/dd/yyyy. How can I change the date settings in Adobe sign so that the date format is not changed (or specify what date format to use)? I find it weird that adobe sign overrides the format you set in Excel. mm/dd is very uncommon here and it leads to confusion about dates (e.g. 09-12 would be december 9th, but is changed in adobe sign to 12/09 which would be understood as september 12th here).
