Does the recipient have to have an account to sign?

I have an Adobe EchoSign account and have been sending document for people to sign.  One person has had a problem.  He will try again.  I am wondering if that person has to have an account in order to sign and send back.  I know that when I used up my free trial of sending 5 documents, it just kept kicking me to another page without making it obvious I had to update my account to continue.  But that was me as the sender.  Does the recipient have to have an account, such as a free trial?

Hello Thomasa70143998,

By default, the signer doesn't need to have an E-Sign account to sign the documents. They would receive an email and need to click the document link to open and sign it.
