We create forms using Indesign then secure them to allow customers to fill in and sign forms using Adobe Acrobat. The forms then get distributed by different users (separate entities) who will use various e-signature solutions.
In this case, our customers have signed up to Adobe e-signature and use that to send out our forms to request signing but when they come to select the files to request e-signatures, the error message ' This document is a secured filed and cannot be e-signed.' is poplulated. The security settings for the forms don't allow changes but do allow filling in and signing forms.
Is it correct that the form creator can't add any security on the forms?

Hi LC_2013,
Thank you for reaching out.
As you are using Acrobat Sign to send this document for signature, you cannot use the PDF form with password security. The Acrobat Sign gives an error due to security added. If you wish, you may add a password in Acrobat Sign before sending the document for signature. For more information on adding passwords, refer to the following community thread: https://adobe.ly/3R40Z2A.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Meenakshi
