Hello:

I have contacted Adobe Customer Service via chat and phoncon many times regarding various questions and issues with Adobe Sign and my latest about Adobe Sign Text Tags. I have been unable to get a straight or educated answer from Adobe on how to use text tags to program my Adobe Sign form. My Adobe Sign form requires 9 separate signers to upload documents before they sign the form. I have tried to look for a step-by-step tutorial or video that could simplify using tags to accomplish the complexity of my Adobe Sign form with no luck. Can someone provide me or help me with text tags with Adobe Sign forms?

Thank you much!

Shan

Hi Shan,

As you need help with the text tags, you may refer to the following helps document.

https://helpx.adobe.com/in/sign/using/text-tag.html

You have mentioned that you need to add fields to upload documents by each signer. What is the issue that you are experiencing in adding the fields?

Could you please provide us more details about the issue you are experincing while adding the fields?

Let us know if you need any help.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Aloha Meenakshi,

I appreciate your reply. Unfortunately, the link you provided does not address how to program/insert the text tags into a pdf form/Adobe Sign form.  However, your link is helpful in showing what text tags are available for Adobe Sign forms. Thank you.

Do you have a tutorial, video, or web page that explains how to physically program/insert text tags in my pdf forms/Adobe Sign forms?

Much Appreciated!

Shan

Yep. Typical Adobe--provide all the details without actually giving you a means to use them. Things that should be smacking me in the face require digging, and then are answered by a non-employee. Adobe is absolutely an infuriatingly lazy mess of a company.

Aloha Meenakshi,

Have not heard from you regarding Adobe Sign text tags.  Do you have a resource that will show me step-by-step on how to use text tags in an Adobe Acrobat Form and/or Adobe Sign Form?

Much Mahalo!

Hi Shan,

I had the same problem - lots of details about the code options, but no instructions on where to add it.  In the end I tried trial and error.

It seems that adding the code to the form field name in the properties dialogue is the place to put it.  When you add it here it is without {{ }}    It converts correctly when uploaded to Adobe Sign.

Hope that helps,

Julie

Hello Shan,

Did you ever resolve this problem as I am having the same problem  - but specifically only for the code for the signer to upload attachments.  I created a test form using code from the linked resource provided by Meenakshi, below (first reply),

https://helpx.adobe.com/sign/using/text-tag.html,

however the "attachment" text tag did not work (no form field appeared) but the signature form field appeared.  Here is the sample:

Please upload your scanned copy of your driver’s license: {{*DriversLicense_es_:signer1:attachment}}And sign here: {{Sig_es_:signer1:signature}}

Can someone or Adobe tell me  if the code is correct? or perhaps it has changed for the receiver/signer to upload supporting documents? Or perhaps I am inserting the code improperly?

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Version 2020.013.20074.

I have tried the approach by Julie Baker below but it does not work.

Thanks, Linda
