I am having trouble to 'fill & sign'. The pen icon at the top of my pdf document is greyed out.
Hi Stephaniei,
Sorry for the delay in response.
As you have mentioned above, the signature icon is greyed out when you use the Fill & Sign tool.
It generally happens when there are already form fields assigned in the document.
To fill those form fields you do not require the Fill & Sign tool.
You can simply click on the form fields in the PDF form to add information and signature.
Hope that answers your query.
Let us know if you have a different issue or referring to something else.
Regards,
Meenakshi

No, I am so frustrated to add my signature in the PDF form but it's grey. I have to sign and put my password 100 times but the entire pdf form is closed. It's very very frustrating!

This does not work for me. I cannot request signatures form anyone on my desktop app. I reported the problem last month and it is still not resolved.

Thank you for reaching out.
Please update the application to the latest version released last week, which addresses the issue. Then, check if it resolves the crash issue for you.
In Acrobat, go to Help > Check for updates. You may also refer to the information on the following help page: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

I used initials in a PDF doc but when I asked to use my full signature, the doc went all gray. How can I escape and the gray and fill in my full name?

Hi Meenakshi,
I am having a similar issue. I cannot upload signatures anymore. When I click on the signature icon, it only shows me previous signatures. I'm also getting this prompt as well, which I have not seen before.
Thank you
Dee

Thank you for reaching out.
The message appears when the form creator adds form fields, and you try to add information using other tools. So you can only fill in the form fields added by the sender.
Please share the steps you take to fill out the form. It would be helpful if you could share the screenshot or the screen recording. It will help us understand what might be causing this behavior.
Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Meenakshi
