Signature date/time missing in audit for self signed document

For self signed documents the audit trail only includes the "Document created" history entry, it does not include the "Document e-signed by" entry which is included when there are multiple signers. Is there a way to self-sign that would cause the "e-signed by" entry to be included in the audit history? I'm using Acrobat Pro DC 2022.002.20191.

Hi Dave Belliveau,

Sorry about the delay in response.

Would you mind sharing the steps you do to sign the document and send it for signature?

Do you upload the document after adding a signature? Or do you prefill the document after uploading the document to Acrobat Sign?

Please share more information for a better understanding.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Meenakshi

These are the steps I'm following:

  1. Open the unsigned document in Acrobot DC
  2. On the Tools menu on the right side, click "Fill & Sign".
  3. On the toolbar on top, click "Sign Yourself", select a signature and place it in the document.
  4. On the toolbar on top, click "Next".
  5. When prompted "What would you like to do?", select "Save as a read-only copy", click "Continue"
  6. The save completes and the read only copy of the document opens in another Acvobat DC window.
  7. On the toolbar on top, click Home. The document list appears with the signed document will appear as the first  item in the list as an AGREEMENT. Click it.
  8. The right side menu will appear. Under Activity, click Audit Report.
  9. The Audit report will appear. It will have an entry for "Document created", but there is no entry for "Document e-signed by" even though the document was self-signed.

I hope that help, let me know if you have any futher questions.

Dave
