Hi There,

Could anyone tell me if there is a way up updating all field roles at once?

I have a predesigned form that i need to change the roles to 'Prefill by Sender', but there are 75 fields and I'd rather not do them one at a time.

I can edit in Acrobat Pro if needed.

Any help would be great.

Regards,

Mark

Hi markh46542507

Please be informed it won't be possible to change the role for multiple fields at once for a pre-designed form. It needs to be done one by one.

Next time please make sure you select the correct participant while placing the fields on the document.

Aadesh

This *should* be an available feature like that though.  I often receive pre-filled documents that I am requested to upload for signature on Adobe Sign.  Since I didn't create the document, I can't place fields with the correct participant since those fields are already placed.  It would be great if there was an "assign all" switch that could change all fields marked "anyone" (for example) to "prefill by me" -- then I could go in and manually change just those few fields that require a specific person's input while making sure that the body of the document is protected from changes.  It's *extremely* tedious to have to manually change each and every field one at a time when you have a lot of fields, and multiple iterations of the same document to send out for signatures.  I'm dealing right now with a document that has 30 individual fields marked "Anyone" but only 8 of them require a specific person (4 signatures and 4 dates).  I have four iterations of this document to send out because the primary signer of each one is different, so that's 120 individual fields that I have to manually change the assignment for.  This is *extremely* time-consuming and aggravating.  I don't see how it could be that difficult to make a select all / adjust all function.

As a helpful hint to anyone else that has this problem, if you select the field list to the right of the document then right click an choose properties, then change from Signer(X) to Signer(Y) it will auto jump to the next field in the list, it is slower than changing them all at once but it is faster than right clicking each field and choosing properties then changing.

More help than Adobe has given at least.

I am sorry but this is an unacceptable answer and quite frankly why Adobe is probably going to lose my business to some other vendor.  I have forms that have 100's of fields and manually changing them is NOT working smarter it is working monotonously.  We choose Adobe products to make our lives easier and this is a simple change.  When tech suppert starts saying things OH WELL YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME (which effectively what they said).  Indicates that Adobe doens't understand that things CHANGE in business, what may have been signed by Participant 1 may now be participant 3 or 4 or 6.  Guess it is time to look for better software, PDFs are going by the wayside just like Flash and Shockwave.  If you can't deliver a quality product all the time then just stick to the things you do well like Photoshop and Illustrator.

We also have 100 of fields on forms and seems like you should be able to do a simple data mapping to roles on the side panel

I agree with you Branding5CC9. This is unacceptable. This program is supposed to make work easier, not harder. I will be looking into alternative solutions for the future

While I agree that this is something that needs to be addressed by Adobe, I have discovered that you don't need to click on <OK> after changing the 'assigned to' drop-down. You can just double-click on the next field to be changed and your previous change is saved. This definitely saves a bit of time when assigning a large number of fields.

You can do it pretty quickly by doing the following:

  1.  select the field on the right side
  2.  open up properties
  3.  click on participant role
  4.  press p
  5. it will automatically jump to the next field, so you can either hold or quickly press p everytime.

I just did like 250 fields in a minute or so.

I want to change all of mine from "Anyone" to "Signer". When I try hitting S to select signer, it is inconsistent with selecting between sender, signer, signer 1, signer 2, etc. Any suggestions on what to type to make this selection? I did try it by typing P first and it indeed worked EXTREMELY fast. Definitely a much easier way. Just need help with selecting the right choice I need!
