Goodday, We operate a service to assist Veterans with their disability claim. Often times older Veterans are unable to fill out forms so the form fill function is terrific in presenting a clear for for the VA to render its decision on various claims. However, we were recently sent the following message:
"Thank you for your email. Please note your request for records must be in an acceptable digital format such as PDF and MUST have a wet signature. Digital signatures are not acceptable for Privacy Act requests................"
This email was sent in direct responce to a "Digital Signature" where the Veteran typed his name in the signature filed, the Adobe program turned the font into a "Handwritten type" font but clearly says that its a digital signature.
So my question is this:
The last few forms we sent in we used the option to have a text message sent to mobile device that allowed the veteran actully use their finger (or S-Pen) to actually sign their name. That image is then automatically sent back to the form and appears as though it was a natural signature. So AGAIN my question is
Is this considered a "wet signature"
