Hi,
In the introduction to Aero the page states:
"Location-based experiences allow you to anchor an AR experience to a specific GPS location."
found referenced on this Adobe page:
https://helpx.adobe.com/aero/how-to/augmented-reality-introduction-aero.html
I would like to use Aero to create a walking tour experience of our property(7 acres). What I have read about Aero seems to indicate this should be possible.
Where can I find tutorial/instruction on placing GPS specific events and connecting them as one big experience.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Hi @Steven275178722ovu , Aero does not currently have GPS mechanisms built in, but we are working on that. Today, you can use your favorite maps platform and put an Aero experience link tied to map markers on the preferred GPS coordinates.

Perhaps by any chance could you give a brief description on how to achieve that?

@Steven275178722ovu I'm working on something similar at the moment. My strategy is to create image anchors on the surface that the viewing will take place to somewhat create a gps like experience.

I was thinking of this as a plan. Have you tried this approach yet? I wanted to have a expereince in a particular space at the building in work. So was going to put an image in receprtion which would trigger the AR. I wanted to have a number of objects appear on the ceiling of the room, that is what I was not quite sure was possible. How far away from the image, can the AR Objects appear e.g. if the image was on the reception desk, can the AR objects be places all around the ceiling of the room?

I was thinking, why not, like a scavenger hunt, have a QR code placed at the locations and have that trigger the following experience? I was thinking of doing something similar... as far as I know, Unity allows us to add GPS coordinates, but I really love Adobe and hope Aero implements GPS soon. Sorry if this wasn't helpful.

Is there an update on this? It's kind of a shame that this is mentioned as a feature in multiple places but not implemented. It's kind of the whole reason I'd want to use AR for anything.

To my knowledge Apple Reality Composer offers the option to link / anchor AR experiences to a geo location (latitude, longitude and altitude) - It would be immensly helpful if Adobe Aero offered a similar option, as this would enable creators to built better location based experiences.

Hi All, Geolocation is a big topic and one we are discussing. It's on our radar, and I will update you as I can on this direction. Thanks

Hi there Mark,
I am setting up an Adobe AR sculpture for an arts festival on Weds 5th April 2023... Is it possible to geotag it into place at this moment? Or should I just set up the QR code and get them to anchor it themselves? I was kind of hoping I would be able to just geotag the area the sculpture is meant to exist and the audience (this festival is in a small country town so they don't actually understand a whole lot of what they will be looking at anyway) could just load the QR code and it would just be there for them. This is a pretty important aspect in this AR journey as a lot of people are really unfamiliar with AR and how it works. The less fiddling they have to do with their phones the better. This is really a trial run for me with trying to get a sculpture into a space and represents an absolutely new medium for my arts practice. So what is going to be the best way to present this? Please help as deadline is loomimg...

Any chance the placement of the AR objects can be done through GPS by August? If so, where can I find this info. And yes, this was very exciting to me - I want to be able to place an experience at my niece's door 200 miles away.

I am testing Aero geospatial, and I love the possibilities. Having the ability to create an actual tour within Aero would be great—especially for those like me who don't have the time or the knowledge to bring in other less-friendly tools to achieve the goal. Which is the whole point of making Ar available to all mortals, right? 😉

...fast forward and no updates....in true Adobe style lol...Im just testing the geo AR and without a way to manually add GPS locations or any manual locations it's kind of a nice toy....Adobe anything to add? Any roadmap for Geo AR? Thx

You can create the same, perhaps even better tour, using the AERO with the Google Geospatial Creator integration. You need a special version of AERO beta to do this. Go to youtube, search for Google Geosptial Creator. WAtch the video. If you follow the links in the description/comments area, it will lead you to the sign form to get access to this version of AERO. (FYI: the GGC integration has been down this week and is not working).

Is Aero dead? Adobe has not released any updates and shared links still do not work. The bug was reported a year ago.
