Presets and other Preferences vanishing into thin air is the last straw for me

So, this is a bit of a rant. I'm very frustrated, and I’ve just about had it. For years I’ve searched through endless posts, threads, and videos, and for years I’ve been putting up with Photoshop randomly losing things: shortcut keys, preferences, layouts, recent files, and most prominently: brushes. Every time I think I’ve got it stable, I relax, and move on. I forget the problem. Then out of nowhere it breaks again and I lose yet again, more hours of work. But lately that issue has been daily. I don't want to have to save brushes manually. Any industry standard app should keep your progress.

And yes, I've done everything. Installing on new computers, clearing my roaming folder, etc. This has been an ongoing problem with every major version of adobe 2020.

And honestly, this isn't even primarily a Photoshop issue. But it shows up the most with Photoshop due to the nature of saving brush presets, etc.

At this point I suspect it’s something to do with creative cloud sync/libraries, but honestly I’m not even sure anymore. And that’s the problem: I’m tired of fighting with it and looking for solutions. And the funny part is, I only work on one computer. There's absolutely NO reason this should be happening. I don't even want cloud sync, yet there's no option to turn this annoying thing off. Sometimes it just feels like this little "syncing cloud" button is just mocking me with all the presets it's consumed over the years. I'm tired of the sudden surprise that 10 brush presets I had just worked on have suddenly poofed after having restarted Photoshop. I don't want to have to worry about that and export them every time. That defeats the point of having a library.

The lack of real control over how our apps sync or don’t sync is the problem. Sure, you can pause it. But no - I want to permanently disable library syncing (or whatever the culprit is). I want control over my own library version control. Adobe doesn’t give me that. I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but unless there's some kind of solution for this, I think I'm going to finally move on to free alternatives.

If anyone does want to chime in with solutions, I'd be happy to hear it. But for an industry standard giant like Adobe, I expect it to "just work" more reliably.

Anyway, thanks for reading my rant. If anyone from Adobe wants to change my mind, please reassure me this problem will be addressed cause I'm on my way out the door.
