Beispiel: Adobe color Farbpalette Farbe "0d2f73", in Photoshop "0d3074". Das ist natürlich wenig befriedigend, wie kommt das und wie kann man das vermeiden?

Gruß, Ralf

If you use the same color in Photoshop then due to usage of color profiles in that document, same color may appear different. the best way will be to save color in LAB mode and then use same via library panel in Photoshop. please give it a try and let us know if you face any issues.

Thank you for your feedback! The LAB-method works. However, I tried a different way: I opened by click the respective colour palette on the Adobe colour website. Then the colour codes of this particular palette appear, which you can copy individually and paste it into the field of the colour picker pop-up window.

So the correct colour rendering is guaranteed.

ok, good to know that it worked for you. so overall the problem seems to be when you download jpg, the value shown on top of it is incorrect. is that correct?

Yes it is. After downloading jpg and pick up colours (in RGB mode), then paste it in gradient map, colour values are incorrect. Slightly incorrect but incorrect.. ;o)

Example: Original colour code in Adobe Color is 0d2f73. After downloading and pasting via colour picker is 0d3074 in Photoshop. Workflow done in RGB mode. Pickersize was 3x3.

Thanks, Jane. Yes, this is actually pretty straightforward.

Hexadecimal numbers are nothing special. It's just base 16 notation for standard RGB numbers. Just shorthand for convenience. For instance, #0d2f73 is exactly the same as RGB 13-47-115.

And here's the thing: Numbers are color space specific. In fact, that's just what a color space is - a definition of numbers as specific colors, and colors as specific numbers. Until associated with a color space, numbers are undefined. Standard RGB color spaces are sRGB, Adobe RGB, ProPhoto RGB and (recently also) DCI-P3.

The only way to get a defined, specific color, is to use color spaces correctly and consistently. The file should always have an embedded color profile.

The same numbers will yield different colors in sRGB, Adobe RGB, ProPhoto etc. Watch the numbers here:

One thing to note is that Hexidecimal numbers were created for use in describing colors for Web use and that is the color space these colors refer to.  So for the Web and Hexidecimal numbers both assume sRGB since that is the internets standard colorspace.  So from that respect only Adobe color is color managed.  Using Lab color isusually safe, but only if creating your srt in 16 bit color.  8 bit Lab space is not smooth and will not produce excellent results as a basis for creating art.  Use 16 bit and you will not have problems.
