Can you save and print a text image that you generate in Firefly?

In using Firefly I have tried to generate text with AI. Can such texts be saved and printed--if the end poduct is fo personal use only? I have also experimented with some AI generated images and would like to know if these images can be saved/printed---again strictly for personal use? I often make custom photo books for my personal use---NOT to sell, using online publishing vendors and would use such images as title pages and/or as backgrounds for my personal photographs. Thank you for any help you can offer.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hi Cassandra, For any of the products using generative AI features (such as Firefly web site, Ilustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Express) these are the guidelines for use: Adobe Generative AI User Guidelines. These guidelines say that content created with generative AI features can be used for commercial use unless the product is in beta and it says it cannot be used for commercial use. The only other thing to note is if you are using the free Firefly plan, you cannot remove the watermark, even if your use is noncommercial/personal only. I hope this answers your question.

Thank you. I am currently in a subscription plan which apparently does not have Firefly---which therefore means I must be using the free version. I presume, therefore if I want to get into the AI World with Adobe I better adjust my current plan! I appreciate your time and help.

I appreciate your previous reply. I am trying to determine how to save a text alphabet that was generated via Firefly. I asked for a text which would generate a complete alphabet in which each letter was created using images of ducks. I get 4 options--shown in 4 individual squares. How do I save such custom alphabets such that I can spell out words using these letters as text labels for my personal photos. When I try to save it I end up saving a square which has in it all 26 letters of the alphabet--each one created by Firefly---how can I separate each created letter---or does each letter have to be created separately---e.g. I would be saving 26 downloads? Thank you.

If you are using Text to Image, you will not be able to do that with that feature. I think what would be better is Text Effects:
It only let me get up to "T" because of the character limit, but you can do the rest of the letters in another generation. I just used a simple prompt "ducks". You can change that if you want a different look.
You can then save that to a PNG file by clicking the download button:
Does this answer your question?

First of all I appreciate all your help. Yes, I tried using the 'text effects' and I received an answer which showed a beautifully generated complete upper case 26 letter alphabet in a single square. I am trying to see if it is even possible to generate a useable 'font' of English letters (upper and lower case) and numbers that are all composed of Mandarin Duck images. I would love to be able to type such words/numbers as---Aix galericulata March 7, 2024 on some of the pages of a photo book that I would put together with my photos and probably using an online resource such as Mixbook. I have not yet tried to save any of the Mandarin Duck text letters in PNG---probably because I do not know how to pull the individual text letters out of the AI generated square which contains all 26 upper case letters. I also have not taken this question to the Adobe Photoshop help chat service. I will continue to try and see if something like I am imagining is even possible. I would have to presume that this is possible--after all surely Photoshop would not offer the 'text effect' option if you could not use the text to type words! I am most grateful for all your help/advice. I will check back if/when I get some help from Photoshop.

Ok, I understand now. I am not close to a font expert, so someone with more experience creating fonts would have to weigh in here. Depending on how much text you have, you could split the text from text effects into separate images and assemble the text. You could do that in Photoshop. If it was a short amount of text, I would probably do that.

I watched a few Adobe tutorials and have determined that I can get the text which has the images in it by writing the text first and then asking for the 'text effect'. However, for some reason my text shows up on a transparent background---which I have selected. When I try to copy/paste this into a photo the background shows up as solid black and not transparent on the photo! Just another wrinkle to figure out, but at least I have the words/text in the duck images. One step at a time!

WIth the FontSelf plugin for Photoshop you could create a pixel based SVG color font out of a pixel image.
There might be free services to create pixel fonts (I only know vector based services)

Thank you for your reply. I think I am sort of on the right track---after watching a few tutorials. I will continue to work on this as I think it might be a great artsy tool to add to my photos!
