I received an email that people on the waitlist were being given access over the next couple of weeks. THat was almost 3 weeks ago. Any news on when I can expect to get access?

There are no "beta"versions of Firefly. You can apply to join Photoshop Beta, Illustrator Beta programs.

You will need to make an Adobe Account and sign into Adobe Firefly.

I'm just wondering what criteria are used to select and add beta users. I have been using or purchasing Adobe products for decades and have been a member of the subscription model since the beginning. Or are the beta users selected at random? Anyway - I would be happy if support could at least say when the official (not beta version) launch is.

They are still making lots of changes to the product and it seems they are rolling out out very slowly. I do not know this for sure, but I believe they are rolling out based on the capacity of the servers running this beta service and their bandwidth to manage feedback on issues and bugs. As you can imagine, and very large number of people have expressed interest in this beta.  Thank you for your patience.

Yes, people have been given access to Video Beta. We just have to wait until we are given access.

I got access to Firefly Video beta but after two short tests I was asked to pay a monthly subscription or I could not continue using the product.
