Using Firefly Assets in Lightweight Editors – Compatibility with Older CapCut Versions?

New Here ,
Aug 03, 2025 Aug 03, 2025

I’ve been experimenting with Adobe Firefly for generating AI visuals and overlays, which is super impressive. But I’m also looking into lightweight or offline workflows for users with slower PCs or limited storage.

Has anyone tried combining Firefly-generated assets with simpler editing tools? I’ve been testing a few older video editors, and I noticed some creators still use apps like CapCut in earlier builds to avoid performance issues. I found this page on capcut install old versions, which offers legacy versions for PC.

My question is—does anyone know if Firefly exports (especially background-removed or layered content) work smoothly with these kinds of stripped-down editors? Or are there compatibility concerns I should look out for when moving between Adobe tools and older desktop apps?

Thanks in advance!

Hi adventurous_curiosity0684!

Thanks for exploring Adobe Firefly, glad to hear you're enjoying the AI visuals. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

File Size: High-res exports might need resizing for smoother performance.

Color Profiles: Minor color shifts can happen if the app doesn't interpret Adobe's profiles.

We recommend testing with a few sample assets first. Let us know if you hit any issues. We're happy to help!

Great question! Firefly-generated assets (like images or videos) are typically standard file formats such as JPG, PNG, or MP4, so they should work in older versions of CapCut as long as those versions support the file type and resolution. That said, if you're using features like transparent backgrounds or high-res video exports (like 4K), compatibility might vary depending on how old the CapCut version is.

For users working with visuals like product promos or showcasing items such as custom packaging boxes wholesale, ensuring compatibility with your editing tools is essential. If you run into any issues, try converting the asset to a more universal format or lowering the resolution slightly. And if possible, updating to a more recent version of CapCut can help avoid unexpected bugs or limitations. Let me know what specific problem you're facing — happy to help further!
