Font already on my system.

Hello.

I have been using Brush Script MT for years. Even before installing CC. After installing CC 2 years ago, I've used Brush Script MT a lot in Photoshop. It's the font we use for our club's name.

But today, I opened a previous document and CC tells me it activated Brush Script Std Medium.

Why would CC activate a font I'm not using nor ever have? I double checked and Brush Script Std Medium is not in the document. Just Brush Script MT and Arial.

@Stanley_W, this could be because you have it activated here, https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/brush-script where the only weight available is medium. If you also have the full font installed on your computer, try deactivating the medium weight on Creative Cloud, then relanch the app, and see if you can apply the regular weight again.

I never activated Brush Script Std Medium to begin with. I don't need to since I only use Brush Script MT, which has been on my computer before I installed CC.
I have deactivated Brush Script Std Medium every time and every time I open that document (which has only ever had Brush Script MT) it is reactivated.

The mystery continues.

Hey J E L,

I can't reproduce the problem now. I've opened and closed the document that was causing the font to activate several times but it isn't happening now. I've made no changes to the document nor to my system. I'm baffled but happy that it has stopped. IF the issue returns I will follow your steps.
