Font for science - math - Greek symbols missing in Photoshop and not obvious to install ...

I need to install Symbol, or any font with science - math - Greek fonts.

Instead of recognizing the font, Photoshop 24.5.0 goes to great length to find fonts with similar design parameters  . and totally goes off the rail.

Any proposal to get Symbol or similat science font into Photoshop ?

Remarkable that no science font is in Photoshop !

I may not have the answer to your question but a few things come to mind.
- Is it possible that the symbol font be a Postscript Type 1 font? (they are no longer supported by Adobe.)

- Photoshop has a pretty limited feature for text settings; InDesign it is not.

You'll find that some options are difficult to find, particularly when you want to access particular variants, alternate glyphs and ligatures.

You can check by going through the Glyph panel (Type>panels>glyphs) and show the subset that you need here

One thing that makes me think that the font may not be supported these days is seeing the timeline for revisions here:

https://unicode.org/Public/MAPPINGS/VENDORS/ADOBE/symbol.txt

and that it's not included in Adobe fonts (despite having been created by Adobe)

Maybe they replaced by a newer one?

There will probably be something suitable that came with macOS or Windows, or in Adobe Fonts. You say it won't recognise the font - what is the font file called (including file type)? What is your OS?
