Fonts split as two different on the list menu

Hi, I recently installed Indesign and other Adobe apps in a new PC. I also did a cleanup of my fonts in Asobe Fonts, but now for some reason some of the fonts (Minion, Graramond Premier and Myriad) appear divided as different fonts. Minion, for example, show once as "Minion Pro (OTF)" with 62 fonts, and next to it also as "Minion Pro (OTF)", but only with Bold and Bold Italic. It's even worst on the pther fonts.

I tried reinstalling both the fonts and all the apps multiple times, but nothing has worked. Also I'm 100% sure that none of the fonts are anywhere else in my PC, so that can't be it.

It's super annoying, because now Minion Bold appears as not available every time I open a file, since Adobe recognizes it as a different font from the Minion I'm using. Is there a solution? Thanks in advance!

Are you adding/installing the type families, such as Myriad, from the Adobe Fonts service? Or do you have standalone font files that are being installed directly into the computer's operating system?

If the fonts are from the Adobe Fonts service you might want to try signing out of the Creative Cloud desktop app, rebooting the computer and then signing back into the account. It might refresh the fonts list. If that doesn't work I'd try deleting the font data cache file in the computer to make the system rebuild it.

I try to be careful with type families such as Myriad or Minion since certain Adobe apps (such as Illustrator) have their own copies of those fonts bundled into program file sub-folders. I've synced Myriad VF and Minion 3 from Adobe Fonts to avoid conflicts from fonts having the same names (and to also be able to use those fonts in other graphics applications not made by Adobe).

Another thing to watch out for is issues caused by other applications open and running in the background. It can be other graphics applications or font managment applications. If I have CorelDRAW open I'll see individual font styles in some type families disappear from the font menu in Illustrator. If I close both applications and re-launch Illustrator all the missing fonts are restored.

Thank you for answering! I am syncing the fonts from Adobe Cloud and fonts,adobe,com. I tried unsinstalling and reinstalling everything, but the problem remained. I also tried installing them from Adobe on my PC, but that didn't help either.

Where is the folder caché files of the fonts? I tried looking for them (mainly for Indesign, which is the one I use the most), but all the "Fonts" folders I found were empty, so I'm guessing that's not them.

This is a new computer, so I don't think I have other programs interfering that much, I've only installed the Adobe programs.

Have you tried signing out of Creative Cloud in the CC Desktop app, rebooting the computer and then signing back into Creative Cloud? Sometimes that simple step will fix a lot of sync and font issues.

The system font cache file is located in different places on Mac and Windows systems. This page describes the process how to delete the font data cache file and force the system to rebuild it:

I don't know where InDesign stores its own required fonts. On my Windows-based systems the InDesign sub-folders that are font related are empty. At least with Adobe Illustrator a list of fonts are present. But they differ slightly from what is included by default with InDesign.

Normally when any fonts are added via the Adobe Fonts service they should be immediately available to any Adobe apps (as long as the CC app is working properly). Other apps not made by Adobe require the fonts to be "installed" in the CC Desktop app in order to see synced Adobe Fonts.

Hi, sorry to forget about the question. The suggestion didn't work, and the problem still exists for Myruad and Garamond Premiere (somehow it got fixed for Minion one day, but I don't know how).

Happening in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. 

Yes, I have signed in and out, uninstalled and reinstalled the font via the adobe fonts website, checked to see if I have a local verision installed and I do not, done all of the suggest things I've seen on multiple posts. My apps and OS are all up to date. Some of the weights are in one family, and the rest are in another. It used to be all in one, and now I have to go through every single time I open an older file and fix all the broken fonts. It's only affecting Myriad Pro, and that's the main font the company I work for uses. So it's wasting me a huge amount of time.

I am having the same issue. 30 fonts in one family of Adobe Garamond Premier (OTF) and the rest in a second listing for it in the font menu. Makes all my styles fail spectacularly and is really hurting my workflow. Have tried everything suggested here and nothing works. No locally-installed versions of these fonts. I wish there was a tool out there to download fonts from fonts.adobe.com and use them all locally, since this error is so problematic.

Hi, sorry for taking so long to answer (I forgot I eben made the question lol). Somehow it fixed for Minion but not for the others. Honestly I'm not really sure how it got fixed, maybe at some point I opened a file by another person that had Minion and it somehow fixed, but I'm not sure. Wish I could do it for the other fonts too!
