Using Adobe Fonts in no-Adobe programs (Macintosh)

I have an Adobe CC license running on an M1 MacBook Air running MacOS Ventura 13.1.

I have noticed that Adobe Fonts activated on the website are available in Adobe apps only. They are not available in other apps including Pages, Font Book, and Font Explorer. Until recently I thought this was expected behaviour as the fonts are installed in a hidden folder in my Library and are not supposed to be accessible to other apps. But others in another forum have said they should be availablke. I cannot find any documentation on Adobe’s website explaining this.

Should the fonts be available to other apps and, if so, why aren’t they?

Hi Scott,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Could you please let us know which application you are trying to use Adobe Fonts?

You can, and you are allowed to use the font in non-Adobe software. If it is not visible in the application, it is either not activated or there is a different problem. Please check the licensing part below for Adobe Fonts:

Please let us know if you have any queries.

Regards,

Neelam

Well for the first time I see the fonts are available in other programs. Perhaps this is something I can do in Ventura but not Monterey. Only recently updated so that might be it.
