Last week, Adobe sent out an Adobe Fonts newsletter, announcing that they added close to 1,000 new fonts. Hurray !! But they also mentioned that two foundries are leaving Adobe Fonts (Font Bureau and Carter & Cone, excluding the Frere-Jones collection), counting a total of appr. 50 families and 700 fonts, being removed from the menu !
You'll get some warnings ahead, but on June 15th the fonts from these foundries will be gone. So you'll be prompted with the typical Missing Font errors and dialogues. Of course you can license the fonts from the originating foundries, even at a special discount. Check your email for more information.
BTW: web kits continue to serve the fonts for websites !
It would have been helpful if Adobe would have stated the Adobe Fonts URLs to these two foundries (and the remaining Frere-Jones collection), so you can easily check whether you're using any of these fonts, before the bomb drops. Here are the affected foundries:
Font Bureau
https://fonts.adobe.com/foundries/font-bureau
(60 families, 669 fonts)
Carter & Cone
https://fonts.adobe.com/foundries/carter-cone
(11 families, 151 fonts)
Frere-Jones
https://fonts.adobe.com/foundries/frere-jones-type
(this sub-collection stays on board)

PS: I mainly wrote this post to be able to refer users to this additional information, since the official newsletter is not anywhere to be found online, and lacks helpful links to these foundries.

Hi - Sounds like existing sites that already points to Adobe will continue to work with the discontinued fonts? We will not need to redirect to a new host of these fonts?
Can you clarify what 'new projects' covers in the FAQ? Does this mean that any new pages created on your site will no longer be able to point to the discontinued fonts served by Adobe Fonts?
Thank you.
What happens to my websites?
Adobe continues to serve the fonts to any published projects, so existing websites will not be affected when fonts are removed. However, removed fonts are not available to use in new projects, and if you delete the font from an existing project, you cannot add it again.

"What happens to my websites?"
For sitewide consistency, I highly recommend you find suitable substitute fonts to replace the ones that are being discontinued.
And you should always have fallback WebSafe font-families in your CSS just in case.
