Is there a speed difference between Premiere Pro export and Adobe media encoder. Exporting speed is equal or not?

The benefit of using Adobe Media Encoder is that while Media Encoder is working you can continue using Premiere Pro. But if you export from Premiere Pro you have to wait for the export to be done before continuing your work. I'm sure there might be some slight differences in the time and encode takes but I've never really noticed any in the projects I've worked on.
