I can do it in LosslessCut & myFFmpeg with MKV & MP4 files, but can't do it with AME!

Hi PCUser,
When you say "can't do it with AME," you might have to elaborate a bit more. But I'll see if I can answer your question with the information that you provided.
Does AME recognize audio with the MKV and MP4 files? If so, in AME you would have to render as wav or aiff.
By the way, if you're using one of the video or audio apps, you should be able to simply drag the audio onto the sequence/timeline without the video.

You did not understand what I said!: I want to extract audio from video file without re-encoding using AME.
MP4 (H.264/AAC) to M4A.

Perhaps I don't understand. Which app do you prefer to use to extract the audio from the video? Are you just wanting to edit the audio? To go from mp4 to m4a you need some kind of software to convert from one file extention to another type. The Adobe audio and video apps should support common H.264 and AAC.

Hello,
I'm also looking for the exact same thing.
I want to use AME to extract the audio AAC part of an .mp4 H.264 file.
It doesn't seem possible. If you export with a preset it will re-encode the audio in the preset.
Is there maybe a "pass-thru" option or something like that. Have bben looking everywhere for a solution but to no avail.
Thanks
Francois
