Media Encoder CC not starting

Windows7 64 bit

Media Encoder CC (7.0.1)

AME worked a while. I exported a couple of jobs to it's queue. All good. Tried to cancel the jobs and it seemed to hang. Had to kill the application from task manager.

Since then AME will not run. It crashes on startup. No splash screen.. nothing. Appears briefly in task manager then dissapears.

I have deleted all files from C:\Users\login\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\7.0

Have reinstalled PremierProCC after uninstalling and using the cleanup tool.

Still no luck. Is there a queue file anywhere that should be deleted?  A registry entry maybe?

AME has self-cleaning feature (like your oven 🙂 .

Hold the shift key as you launch AME CC and AME should remove and reset all the settings.

Make it look like the first launch.

Hope that works.

Let us know how it goes.

A MUCH SIMPLER SOLUTION: Open the file (C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache\X19zbGNfZmVhdHVyZXNfXw==.slc) in any text editor, delete all of the contents, save it, and set the file to read-only. You'll never have to delete it again and you won't need to mess with all of this batch file, load-order stuff.

Here's two directories you can manually delete if the above workarounds don't help:

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\AME\7.0  <-- you mentioned this one already...

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\7.0

Not to be picky but i'd appreciate any help as quick as possible, as i litrally cannot render without media encoder. The standard premiere pro renderer is SUPER plane and feels like it takes like 15mins longer.

Did you install any additional plug-ins recently?

If you see any plug-ins under the following directory, you can try removing one by one and launch AME. And see removing any of plug-ins helps.

Plug-ins folder

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore

Try this:

-   in PPro -> Help -> Updates...

    - is AME update in the list  of available updates?

-   if yes, run the AME update and let us know if it succeeds.

Also, are there any messages when you queue a sequence from PPro?

Reinstalling Premiere & After effects fixed it. However i will keep you informed to morrow after a restart if AME still works.

EDIT- I was able to fix it for a brief moment after reinstalling PP & AE.

AME only runs like 1 time before then suddenly no longer running.

Is there a message about serialization?

- Start PPro and activate it to Activate AME. Then it should run fine.

The one free launch is by design.

I have similar problem with AME. It definitely have something with

C:-Program Files (x86)-Common Files-Adobe-SLCache

C:-ProgramData-Adobe-SLStore

I moved them, and AME started, but other programs asking for licence, than moved them back, same problem, everything works, but AME don't. I'will try more tests.

For now everything works. My workflow was:

Moved everything from C:-Program Files (x86)-Common Files-Adobe-SLCache

Started AME, and AME created 3 files:QUNDRVNTX0NIRUNL.slc

                                                            QWRvYmVNZWRpYUVuY29kZXItQ1M3LVdpbi1HTXt8fUFMTA==.slc

                                                            X19zbGNfZmVhdHVyZXNfXw==.slc

Closed AME, deleted those 3 files from folder where I moved all (75) .slc files, and rest 72 files moved back to C:-Program Files (x86)-Common Files-Adobe-SLCache.

Maybe AME needed fresh start .

I just navigated to C:Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Adobe/SLCache and deleted X19zbGNfZmVhdHVyZXNfXw==.slc and everything worked after that. However, I need to keep going back and deleting X19zbGNfZmVhdHVyZXNfXw==.slc in order to open AME CC

Is there anything that can be done further that doesn't require removing that file every time I want to start AME CC?

Best answer yet!

create a .bat file containing:

del "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache\X19zbGNfZmVhdHVyZXNfXw==.slc"

start "AME" "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CC\Adobe Media Encoder.exe"

and just run AME with it.

You could add Premiere Pro in as well so that AME get's started before PremierePro and all is good. Premiere will then be able to queue directly to AME.

del "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache\X19zbGNfZmVhdHVyZXNfXw==.slc"

start "AME" "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CC\Adobe Media Encoder.exe"

start "PremierePro" "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC\Adobe Premiere Pro.exe"
