I'm exporting from AE to media encoder and for this project that I need to get out by yesterday I've been trying for 3 days now to get media encoder to work and it keeps crashing, it wont process my video at all. I cleared preferences and that didnt work, I ended up uninstalling the whole app and reinstalling and it still wont work. SOS please send help.

Been having the same issue since I updated too, along with pretty much everybody else by the look of these message boards.  Such a mess on Adobe's part, can't believe they haven't fixed it yet.

Just came across another thread where someone suggested going to System Preferences > Security & Privacy then unlock the lock and make sure AE / PR / AME are all checked under Full Disk Access. This seemed to just fix it for me!

this did not work for me, though I did need to enable Full Disk Access. Media encoder either freezes computer, crashes computer (full reboot on its own), or i have to force quit

(macbook pro 2020 intel running 12.0.1 Monterey)

This seemed to work one time for me, then it hangs again. I did notice that in the Activity monitor the "aerendercore (not responding)" shows, and I tried force quitting that and restarting both AE and ME, then it would work once, then not again. It seems to be unpredictable. I do not think the enablement of the full disk access has anything to do with this, though.

Having the same problem here, cant export files using h264. I am exporting my files using apple proRes, and converting them to mp4 with handbrake, the quality is good but takes more time and effort... We need this fixed right now!

The only way I have made Media encoder work from AE is restarting the computer. I can usually encode a few times before it stop working for me. I got tired of restarting the computer, so I just decided to go back to AE 2020 for now. I don't have the time to trouble shot this problem. To many hot projects to release.

Getting the same problem here ADOBE this is frustrating! When it goes to load the project from Premiere Pro to Encoder it hangs during import and doesn't even make it to render.

Right now Encoder is useless! I have to use PP for all exports

I can feel your pain from here,

Because this happens to be software, They get away with it. However had this been airplane fuel, and caused a crash They would be fined for delivering inadequate Non-Functional fuel. Utterly disgusting, I am ashamed to be a customer of Adobe.

Until today (28 Nov) I still have this problem aswell. Worries me that Adobe didn't fix this ASAP since this are softwares largely used by professionals. My "solution" was to export through Render Queue in AE and export to other formats with third party softwares like Handbrake.

El modo que encontré para resolver este problema es abrir el proyecto de AfterEffects en Media Encoder, seleccionar la composición y luego renderizar.

The way I found to solve this problem is to open the AfterEffects project in Media Encoder, select the composition, and then render.

I think I found the problem with Media Encoder 2021 and 2022: It doesn't play nice with the OCFX plugin.

I looked at where media Encoder would crap out on loading and it did right when it tried to load that plugin.

So I went and removed it and now the app loads.

To find the plug-in:

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/

I made a copy of it in case I needed it since Media Encoder 2020 works without issue and that plugin is needed for GoPro reframing.

Now we just need Adobe and GoPro to get togther and figure out what the issue is with this plugin!
