A common problem it seems - I have been through all the previous posts about this issue and tried absolutely everything but nothing works. This happened to me a while back, I left it, waited for a new update and it worked. I work with .MXFs everyday with no problem, and then somehow these specific ones are a problem.
1. Using Media Encoder 24.5 (problem present on previous version)
2. Windows 10 22H2
3. I download .mxf file, put it in AME, set to conver to h.264 and I get this failed result error:
4. Should get an .Mp4 file but get this in the error log:
- Source File: C:\Users\Louie Laptop\Content (Temp)\Misc Temp\madame1_1.mxf
- Output File: C:\Users\Louie Laptop\Content (Temp)\Misc Temp\madame1_1_1.mp4
- Preset Used: MXF Downsize
- Video: 1920x1080 (1.0), 25 fps, Progressive, 203 (75% HLG, 58% PQ), Hardware Encoding, Nvidia Codec, 01:16:34:21
- Audio: AAC, 320 kbps, 48 kHz, Stereo
- Bitrate: VBR, 1 pass, Target 4.00 Mbps
- Encoding Time: 00:01:54
07/23/2024 10:08:23 AM : Encoding Failed

Error retrieving frame 24558 at time 10:16:22:08 from the file: C:\Users\Louie Laptop\Content (Temp)\Misc Temp\madame1_1.mxf, substituting frame 24557
OR this if trying to export from Premiere:
- Source File: C:\Users\LOUIEL~1\AppData\Local\Temp\generalclipping2.0.prproj
- Output File: C:\Users\Louie Laptop\Content (Temp)\Misc Temp\Small LA\madame1_1.mp4
- Preset Used: Match Source - Adaptive High Bitrate
- Video: 720x576 (1.4587), 25 fps, Upper, 203 (75% HLG, 58% PQ), Software Encoding, 01:16:34:21
- Audio: AAC, 320 kbps, 48 kHz, Stereo
- Bitrate: VBR, 1 pass, Target 3.20 Mbps, Max 4.00 Mbps

Very bored of this problem, please fix!

This could be a file problem since it was transcoded by a third party, it's hard to tell what the original source was.
Can you tell me what build of the beta you are using? You can find in the About Premiere Pro
Can you try going to Settings > Media > and disabling the checkbox "Hardware Accelerated decoding" then restart.
Can you try Premiere Pro 24.1, and let us know the results.

Hi @alysonm4897304 - Sorry you have experiencing this problem for so long. We are working on resolving the frame recursion errors and have made some progress in the beta 24.6. Can you try the beta and let us know how it goes? You can find it in the creative cloud desktop app under Apps and in the sidebar labeled beta apps. There you can download Premiere Pro 24.6. Alwasys remember to hold down shift after any installation and check the boxes to clear media chache, reset plugin cache and if you have any problems you can test by disabling third party plugins to troubleshoot. Let us know how it goes.
Can you post a screenshot of the media properties from your clips.? Are these clips from a certain camera or an app?

Hi JamieClarke,
Thanks so much for your quick reply - I was unaware there were readily-available Beta versions to use, that's great. Unfortunately using this hasn't helped for either APP or AME. I attached the media properties for my .mxf clip (I download them straight from the source, the BBC).

Hi Jamie,
Sorry for the delayed reply. I think you were right about the problem files, I think I was just extremely unlucky and I got three fails in a row when I usually get none! So I presumed it was an Adobe thing. I have used different .MXF files on both the Beta and Standard and it has worked.
Thanks for taking pity on me and sorry for wasting your time! Much appreciated.
