Hi I'm having an issue with Media Encoder on my new render server.
The problem is that various GPU accelerated effects, mainly glow bases ones as they are most obvious, are not rendering as they should, I.e. not leveraging the GPU at all as though I am rendering in software mode, despite the GPU being heavily utilised when rendering and After Effects displaying and rendering them fine internally.
I don't have this problem on my main PC which is in itself a problem since I built the server so that I could use that instead.
Cuda does appear on the renderer list and is selected.
Any ideas please tell me as I'm losing my patience here.
Server specs.
Dual X5675 Xeons (12 Cores 24 Threads)
24GB DDR3 Ram
GTX 1060 3GB (Couldn't afford a quadro)
8 port LSI raid controller
1TB WD SSHD for the boot drive
24TB Raid 5 Array
256GB Samsung SSD for the scratch disk
Media Encoder v12.0 (Updating to v12.1 seemed to actually make things worse as GPU usage hit 0% and render times tanked.)
Again rendering from After Effects works fine but takes forever and eats up hard drive space leaving me to then re-encode the footage.

HI danielt,
Do you have an integrated GPU, as well? Let us know.
Thanks,
Kevin

Not with Xeons.
If that's the problem then tell me sooner rather than later as I will start rebuilding the server.
