Media encoder not working at all

Hello,
i followed all recomendations from the community. unfortunatelly, media endoder is not working for me. i used it in two different computers and the result was the same... nothing rendered from After effects.
is it possible to run the previous versions of media endoder and after effects? it was working fine until the update... practically, i cannot render any of my projects. : (
any aditional suggestions?

i have done he following

Choose File > Project Settings > General. The Project Settings window opens.
In the Video Rendering and Playback section, choose Mercury Playback Engine Software Only.

saving it in a different format

change the match source.

should i do something else?

Try turning off Hardware encoding in the Video tab of the export settings.
