Out of Memory Errors with Media Encoder

I am getting Out of Memory errors creating proxies.

I'm using a Dell Alienware M15 with 32GB memory, Windows 10, two x SSD, and I have Windows automatically manage the virtual memory. AME is version: 15.4.1 (Build 5).
In AME I have allocated 26GB to Media Encoder and 6 to everything else. I am rendering h.265 10-bit 4K clips to h.265 720p proxies. After a few clips it starts to error with Memory issues.

BTW. The reason I am creating h.265 proxies is that h.264 doesn't support high frame rate video. At least AME doesn't support it.

Any ideas for what I can try?

Kind regards

Peter

Further information:

I have re-run the proxy jobs using an h.264 Ingest Preset and everything runs fine. AME only uses around 6 to 7 GB at maximum and releases the memory down to 2.5 GB quickly after each job. When using h.265 proxies the memory usage goes quickly up to approx 15GB and after the job is released very slowly. This means that there is unsufficient memory available for the next proxy file and it crashes with Out of Memory.

However: If I run Create Proxies on a large number of clips. Like more than 12, then AME errors and crashes my GPU Driver requiring a reboot. This is really frustrating. BTW My GPU is an Nvidia RTX 2080 with the latest Nvidia Studio Driver.

Here is the AME Error:
