I've been having some compatibility issues with my computer and After Effects and Media encoder (v22.4 build 53). I have a laptop with an intel i5 1135G7 core and Intel Iris Xe GPU. Other users have reported some issues with this setup (namely, preview area freezes in AE and rendering freezes in ME), but I've found I can mostly resolve them by switching off hardware acceleration in my Adobe programs wherever possible.
My issue is that these settings don't all seem to save when I exit M.E. I'm specifically talking about the dropdown menu below the render queue that I've drawn a box around in the following image. I can switch to Mercury Playback Engine Software Only, but the setting reverts back to hardware accel the next time I open the program.
Having to toggle this setting every time I open up ME is holding up my mostly script-based workflow. Is there a setting that I've missed somewhere that will keep this dropdown menu from reverting from software only to hardware accel?
