Adobe XD and Typekit

Looking to purchase these two items and need to know how updates are handled. Do the products update automatically on my machine or does it give me the option of whether or not I would like to update the products?

What kind of subscription do you have for these products? As far as I know Adobe XD CC is available only through a subscription to the Creative Cloud, and you shouldget updates announced through the CC desktop app.

But a Typekit subscription could be accessed through a CC subscription or a direct subscription to Typekit. Typekit normally doesn't have "updates" because it's not stored on your computer. It's a web-accessed service and new fonts and changes to the web interface are made available when they're ready. There are no updates.

Thanks for the reply Steve. We don't have a subscription yet but I am working on getting it implemented in my agency and needed to find this information out. We are looking to get XD and Typekit which are on CC. I need to know if the desktop app allows you to choose whether or not you want to go through with the update as anytime there is an update we have to take it through the SDLC process before it is implemented.

The update isn't installed automatically. You will receive an email announcement after an update after which you will have to update the app using the CC desktop app.

The procedure for silent installs across enterprise software is slightly different, but even in that case, you can choose to upgrade.
