Adobe XD installation keeps hanging at 80%

I recently downloaded Adobe XD a few days ago and everything worked fine. However I had to do a system restore due to a separate issue, and it ended up removing Adobe XD.

Now every single time I try reinstalling, it gets stuck at 80% and freezes, as I have to go through task manager to close it. I assume the problem is that there is some file somewhere on my computer for XD that didn't get removed during the system restore, and now every time i try to reinstall it gets to that point and freaks out.

I have tried:

  • Going through a bunch of my files and deleting everything I could find related to XD by hand.
  • Running the Adobe cleaning tool.
  • Restarting my PC.
  • Downloading on a different browser.
  • Allowing Adobe Installer through on the windows firewall.

None of the above has seemed to work

    Hi Henry,

Thank you for trying the common troubleshooting steps. Just to be sure, are you on an official version of Windows 10. We have heard issues with the Beta version of the software.

If you are using an official version, please send me your Adobe ID, location, and phone number along with the URL of this post over a private message. We will get in touch with you for investigation.

    Thanks,
