I am a designer working with a developer, trying to encourage him to use this plugin to save lots of effort. He tells me that he is unable to authenticate or get a token to authenticate.
When he tries to authenticate, it fails, he gets the progress indicator and then eventually ends up on the screen he started on. Neither Authenticate or Skip result in anything. Screens appear below.
Hi @mattcaspertfg,
Sorry for the frustration. Our engineering team has tried investigating the issue previously, and they found that this issue is with the VS code Plugin itself and not XD. The plugin is actually hosted in the Visual studio marketplace, so nothing can be done from our XD side.
However, the team is trying to look for the owner of the plugin so that he (the owner) can fix the issue.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks,
Harshika

Rishbah,
I have recieved no responses on posts in both the Adobe and Microsoft forums.
The developer I am working with continues to say he cannot Authenticate when working to take the XD library I have published – into Visual Studio Code. He is not even getting an error message – he is just getting a "progress screen" that eventually takes him back to where he clicked Authenticate.
What can we do to resolve this?

Regretably I was sharing the wrong link from XD with the developer. From your XD library file, use the Share icon to proceed to get the link that the Adobe XD plugin for Visual Studio Code will recognize.
We got my libary into Visual Studio Code but there are other issues arising. Will share updates if we have a breaktrhough, but the developer expressed several concerns about the viablity of our following this process.

Thank you so much for the message, I am sorry I did not see it until now. The Adobe XD plugin for Visual Studio Code looked so very promising! However, my dev team has determined that there have been no recent updates and they have concerns about the reliability of this approach to meet our needs to build out our library. We are going to pivot to another solution.

Hi @stephh20422608,
We are sorry to hear you're experiencing a similar problem. Have you tried connecting with the plugin support team to confirm if there is any issue at their end? If yes, and it didn't help, could you please elaborate on your workflow so that we can help you better?
Thanks,
Harshika

They say it's not with them. That they only can help around the software itself. This makes me want to cancel my suscription and go an use Figma again...

Same authentication issue here. Library is properly published and shared. Extension won't authenticate.
No response on the VSCode extension page. Is it still being developed at all?

I am also getting authentication issues when trying to authenticate via Visual Studio Code. Are there any updates or fixes in the works? (I have also posted a comment to VS marketplace. This issue is effecting a few users).

I'm also having the same problem. Adobe should make a tutorial about this.

Hi All,
We are sorry for the delay in response. Could you please share the version of XD and the operating system you're working on? Are you on an Individual, Teams, or Enterprise account?
We are checking with our plugin developer team regarding this issue, and we'll keep you posted with the update. In the meanwhile, please share the above details for investigation purposes.
We'll try our best to help.
Thanks,

@HARSHIKA_VERMA I'm not sure what type of account I have. I have two actually, one for my company which I would assume is a Teams/Enterprise account and another that is just the Free AdobeID Individual I believe.
I was trying to authenticate using the Free AdobeID account in VSCode 1.71.2 With the XD Extension v1.2.3 on a Linux Amazon Workspace (Linux a-1bwuh0l5i0had 5.15.59-33.133.amzn2.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Aug 31 00:10:29 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux).

Hello @HARSHIKA_VERMA
Unfortunately updating XD to the latest version has not helped the situation. It appears to be a problem with authenticating on the webside of things not Adobe XD. The spinning icon on the authentication web page indicates that as the next page would normally be visual studio code with a message saying it has successfully imported the library.
Please update the community as to what is going on with this as it is now turning into something which our team can no longer put on pause as it is effecting our workflow. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for sharing the above details, @Mr D.Adams and @Kevin25597155w0mv. Could you please confirm if you have the same problem with XD app, not a plugin? If the XD app is working, then it can be an XD plugin problem.
If you still face the issue, please share the logs with me over a private message so that I can escalate the logs to the team for investigation.
Note: Please share the generated logs with me over a private message by uploading them to a shared location such as CC, Dropbox, and WeTransfer and share the link.
Thanks.
Harshika

@HARSHIKA_VERMA I believe the issue is with the Adobe XD VSCode Extension, not with the XD app. VSCode is trying to authenticate to Adobe and retrieve published XD Library information. The Adobe authentication is not redirecting properly back to VSCode to allow the extension to log in.
