Adobe XD v50.0.12 paid after the update (No starter plan)

Bonjour 👋

Est-ce-que Adobe XD est devenu payant après la dernière mise à jour v50.0.12 ?

    Correct answer ProDesignTools

Hi, I'm encountering this while trying to update XD to access a recent file that's been shared with me - assuming I sign up to the trial and then cancel the subscription, what guarantee do I have that future updates will be available? It's not like I can keep signing up to free trials. Is this a bug that will be fixed in the next version (in which case what's the timescale for this?) or do you intend to keep it in place?

Adobe has acknowledged an issue with the version 50 update of XD, and hopefully they will address it.

But importantly, the Starter version of XD has not gone away, and there seems to be a straightforward workaround to access it (even in version 50)...

Here it is: Instead of launching XD from the Creative Cloud Desktop app, try starting it from elsewhere – namely, from the Windows Start menu or from the macOS Dock/Launchpad.

Then choose the "Exit XD" button, but XD Starter should still run – even without a trial or paid plan.

It currently states in my account that with my Photoshop Plan I have access to XD starter plan.

But now we don't get future updates?

A tech assistent intalled the new update on my pc after everything was removed and totally clean from adobe stuff. But now the cloud tool jut shows the blue "Test"-Button aside Adobe XD. Photoshop Plan still works as intented.

    Hi All,

Thank you so much for your patience. Below is the update that I got from the team.

    • The trial gives you the chance to try the full capabilities of XD at no cost for 7 days. There is no commitment; if you cancel during the trial period, you will go back to the Starter plan.
    • XD A starter plan remains available for people learning UI/UX designers who have limited needs to share or collaborate with others.
    • You can continue using XD Starter by launching XD manually (from Windows Start menu or macOS Dock/Launchpad)

Please let me know if you need further assistance or experiencing any issues with XD.

    I am happy to help.

    Thanks,

    Harshika

Today I received the update with 7 days trial version. I was using the free plan for a long time and as of today this message appeared, should I look for other platforms or will Adobe xd continue with a free account?

Creative Cloud Desktop doesn’t let me update unless I subscribe to a plan. No word from Adobe yet, no update notice or any mention of ceasing the Starter plan. That would certainly have me look out for an alternative if they just ditched the free plan, which was enough for the way I am working.

Hi, have you tried logging out and back in your Adobe account?

Yes, i signed out from account and in the Creative Cloud Desktop app. Still it says i have 7 day trial.

Before that, i've used the free starter plan for about 3 years i think. But as of this mornings adobe XD update to v.50, it doesn't seem to be free anymore.
The link on this page that shows "What has changed with XD starter plan" seems to state that it would still be free.

Hi, Adobe XD no longer has a free plan for some time. There are two plans currently available. I recommend you take a look at this page: https://www.adobe.com/products/xd/pricing/individual.html

Funny you say that. They still advertise their Starter plan. Until today I was able to use XD for free with that exact Starter plan. Is there any indication that they removed that plan?

I have this very same issue. There hasn't been any mention of removing the free plan, but it has disappeared from my account after the latest update.

There seems to be a straightforward workaround to the issue that Adobe acknowledges in the version 50 update of XD...

Instead of launching XD from the Creative Cloud Desktop app, try starting it from elsewhere – namely, from the Windows Start menu or the macOS Dock/Launchpad...

Then choose the "Exit XD" button, but see if it still runs.
