I'm looking for a way to create an interactive where a box changes color when clicked on. Can I do this in Xd?

You need to use 4 state for button when mouse are hitting button area.

    • Normal
    • Up
    • Down
    • Active

For that you can use Muse, Animate, InDesign that have panel for Button States. When mouse is in Up or Down state this program can exclude script for changing colors.

    I recommend Adobe Muse.CC

Assign different states to objects in Adobe Muse

You can draw box on one artboard, then copy the artboard and change color. Set transition to None

Clicking box will change artboard and change box color.

    Repeat ir for each box.

I think I get it. If I have 10 boxes, and the first box is selected, then the next artboard needs to have that box as a different color. If a person wants to select a second box, then a third artboard must have the first and the second box selected. I will need to have a million artboards to provide all of the possible combinations of selected boxes in various order selected.

Is there an app that can change the selected box without changing the artboard? Would Acrobat have that feature by any chance, where instead of the option of ticking multiple boxes, they could change color?

    Hi Perbetty,

In order to change the color of the Box, you may use the transition set to "None". Please check if this is what you are looking for: - Adobe XD CC.

Please feel free to update this discussion in case you need further assistance.

    Thanks,

Actually, I will have several boxes on an artboard that I want to change color. Is there any application in Adobe where I can change the color of several boxes with a click?

What I mean is, have several boxes, and click on each box to change its color.
