We were sent an XD link to view a presentation, but I want to save it as a PDF myself for our records. Is that possible? Or does the original creator have to do that?

Hi @Alex258797572wpw, as far as I know it's not possible to save a file from a shared link. I'd request the file from the creator as you said.

I think that's the case for most of the applications for safety, there are some restrictions that you can define while sharing a file, like "only invited people can see" or "anyone with the link" etc, but also there are options to share a file for editing/copying purposes which is also possible in XD, inviting people to edit files but as I see it the share here is just for viewing. So I'd suggest contacting the owner of the file!

Thank you for sharing @david29964885ufhg, once @Alex258797572wpw gets the file, these are the steps to convert to PDF then, great!

Per my original post - it's not "my" presentation. We were sent the presentation via link. So I can't open it to export it in a different format.

Yep, unfortunately, as my first reply suggests, and I wanted to reply also to @david29964885ufhg, to indicate that the problem here is not the method to convert, but not being able to save the file, so I'm aware of it 😉 oh it's ok though if you meant to reply to his post but replied to mine 😉

To convert an Adobe XD presentation to PDF, you have a few options:
Export as PDF from Adobe XD:
Print to PDF:
Use a virtual PDF printer:
Regardless of the method you choose, keep in mind that some interactive or dynamic elements of the XD presentation, such as animations or interactive links, may not be preserved in the PDF format. The resulting PDF will be a static representation of the design.
Make sure to review the exported PDF file to ensure that all the elements are displayed correctly before sharing or distributing it.....

As of my last update in September 2021, Adobe XD, a popular design tool, does not have a built-in feature to directly export a presentation to PDF format. However, you can still achieve this by following these steps:
Prepare your presentation: Make sure your Adobe XD file is set up in presentation mode with all the artboards and elements you want to include in the PDF.
Take screenshots: Go through your presentation and take screenshots of each artboard or screen you want to include in the PDF. You can use the standard screenshot shortcuts for your operating system (e.g., PrtScn on Windows, Shift + Command + 4 on macOS).
Organize the screenshots: Arrange the screenshots in the order you want them to appear in the PDF. You can use image editing software or presentation tools like Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Keynote to create a cohesive sequence of slides.
Export to PDF: Once you have organized the screenshots, you can use a virtual PDF printer or an online PDF converter to create a PDF file. Many virtual PDF printers are available for free online, such as "CutePDF Writer" for Windows or "PDFwriter for Mac" for macOS. After installing the virtual PDF printer, simply print the slides from your presentation software to the PDF printer, and it will generate a PDF file.
Alternatively, if you prefer an online solution, you can use websites like "Smallpdf" or "Online2PDF" to convert images (screenshots) to a single PDF file.
Please note that the above steps may vary depending on the software versions and updates that have been released since my last update. Therefore, it's a good idea to check the official Adobe XD documentation or relevant online resources for any recent features related to exporting presentations to PDF.............

Oh thank you @Shaheen33007458vteh, it would be great if you share how we can convert an XD file to PDF, from a shared file link, while you're not the file owner of course..

Assuming you have only received a link to a design (no Adobe XD app installed):

After gathering the screenshots or PDF, you can upload them here, and I’ll analyze them against the implementation to identify any design discrepancies or issues. Let me know if you need additional guidance on these steps!
