Copying between files

I'm trying to copy an artboard from one file to another - both have the same components. When I paste it to the target file, the components appears in the default state (i.e. the width, text and inner elements as on the initial master component).
Is there something I am doing wrong or is there a specific way to do such thing?

    Sorry to hear about the issue you are facing. Unfortunately I couldn't reproduce it. Would you please let us know the steps you have followed or you can attach a video of your workflow. Also please let us know the hardware name, version and XD version you are using.
