Copying vectors over from Illustrator to XD

When I copy a vector grouping (illustration) over to XD from Adobe Illustrator, it comes over as a masked object. Editing is a nightmare. It just happened to me today. Did I accidently hit a command that would bring all vectors over as a masked object?

    Using latest version of Mac OS and latest update of Adobe XD as of today's date Oct 22 2020.
