Question

Error "!" while previewing the prototype design on iPhone in XD.

This font is part of the iOS UI Kit Apple provides, still it isn't displayed when previewing prototype on my iPhone (iOS 13.2.3). I only get the "!" but not the "Font missing" alert. Anybody having the same issue?

Cheers

Nikolaus

Not a solution, but a work-around might be to temporarily convert the text(s) using that font to paths. Look under the Object – Path menu command (Cmd-8 or Ctrl-8). You can save a version of your document with normal text, so you can easily revert to the textual version again. Or you could convert them right before sharing the preview (and undo those steps immediately afterwards).

Hi Nikolaus,

We are sorry to hear you are having trouble previewing your design on iPhone. Would you mind trying with a different font and share results? We would also like to confirm if you're following the same process as mentioned in this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/xd/help/preview-mobile.html to preview your design?

Thanks,

Harshika

Hi Harshika,

the font is SF Symbols from Apple: https://developer.apple.com/design/human-interface-guidelines/sf-symbols/overview/

It should be self-evident to use this font in my designs since Apple is providing the UI kit as mentioned before. In the Adobe XD on mobile under Troubleshooting it is mentioned that certain vendors don't allow the transfer and display of their font which in this case would be really weird.

Cheers
