I was in the process of starting to learn XD but it seems like adobe are dropping it. My question is whether adobe have a replacement app in the wings that I am unsure of or are they saying they are not really interested in web design any more and are pulling back to just concentrate on graphic / video production whether this be social media, print, photo editing etc.

i have a similar question. Its basically due to their recent aquiring of Figma (although im not sure what the deal is there). Im guessing they'll merge the two together at some point or just scrap XD in favour of figma. Would ne good to know soon though as im also starting to learn XD (although i think im going to start learning Figma now)

Adobe's original plan was to replace XD with Figma as their offering in the interactive design space. But that is in question with the regualtory inquires into the deal. Figma remains a strong option as a tool for that kind of work. There are other solutions out there as well that you can explore using.

No clue. The rules about mergers mean a lot of radio silence about them from the two companies. We know both the EU and US have concerns about the merger. At the recent Figma conference, the only thing that was mentioned was it was still on-going. Expect about the same at the Adobe MAx conference in a few weeks.

It looks like there will be no merger between the companies. I wonder if the solution is to just move to Figma.

Yes. But you should look at some of the other tools available to see if they might fit your exact needs.
