On Windows 10 at least, if the user selects a component and chooses "highlight on canvas" then presses space bar to look around trying to find the componet (which is BTW as many have reported almost impossible in a file with a normal amount of items) items in the main menu start to get selected instead of activating the hand tool to drag.
This is EXTREMELY annoying because no dragging occurs and the "new file" dialog opens up when the space bar is released.

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry for the delay in response. Would you mind sharing a short video of your workflow for better understanding? Please keep the on-screen keyboard ON so that we can look for the keys. Please share the details of your operating system and the version of XD.
We will try our best to help.
Thanks,
Harshika

Hi,
attached is a video as you requested. I didn't include the on-screen keyboard because it doesn't show which keys I press on the physical keyboard and with the mouse I can't press the on-screen space bar and attempt to drag the XD canvas at the same time....
Anyway you can see the mouse cursor and the only other thing I do is press the spacebar on the keyboard (starting from second 13/14) and nothing else.
When it enters that "state" even if I switch to another application and back to XD it keeps using the spacebar to select items in the menu. The only way to exit that state is to click somewhere else in the application with the mouse before pressing the spacebar.

I just noticed this issue is actually not specific to the highlight on canvas function: whenever one opens the context menu of a component the spacebar starts being used to select items in the context menu and after it closes the main application menu.
