Question

How to create a responsive email template for client in XD?

Hello,

I am a beginner graphic designer and was asked by someone to create a responsive email for them that they can use to follow up with their clients. I have spent the last week looking everywhere for the best method to do this. I have experience with PS, AI, InDesign and a little bit of XD (barely). What is the best method (meaning file type, export etc.) for me to create the email layout to match his brand identity, that I can just hand off to him to use. He uses ConvertKit for his email communications btw. I have spent so much time this week watching videos of HTML and programs like Sublime Text, Webflow and a few others and I feel like this is beyond what I can do right now. What are my other options. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Hi default48sdgzb4hpxc,

Welcome to the XD community!

Thank you for reaching out. I found this video tutorial on creating an email template in XD. Please check that out and let us know if that helps.

I am also keeping the discussion open for your XD experts who may want to share their best practices and advice.

I hope it helps.

Thanks,

Harshika

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I did see this video before, but it still didn't quite answer what I've been looking for. It doesn't cover my main question, which is how to hand over my design to a client looking to use it in their email campaigns. I don't know what to do after teh design is created. What file formats do I send over? Do I convert to HTML? I know HTML is ideal for email campaigns, but how to I deliver that to my client. Is there a way to just convert my design to an HTML file they can upload? This is the part where I'm confused and would lie to learn more.

Hey there! sounds like you need some clarification from the client on what email software they're using. Once you figure that out all you should need to do is export your files in HTML. Hope this help if for some reason you're still trying to figure it all out.
