How to delete the outer border when merging

Hi, XD Newbie here.

 

How can I delete the remaining border outside the two shapes when merging two shapes ?

Hi, if I'm not missing something, disabling the border in the appearance panel would resolve the issue, adding a screenshot, hope this helps
