Hi All,

We understand that this is a highly viewed thread on XD community and thank you for reaching out. We would like to inform you that you can use the plugin "Web Export" which allows you to extract HTML and CSS from your design.

You can also use Adobe XD plug-ins that allow for extracting HTML and CSS. Select Plugins > Discover Plugins and search using keywords such as web, or HTML, CSS.

I'm trying to get ahead of the shut down of Business Catalyst and the transition of the sites I created in Muse.  Has anyone found a good solution?  Also, giving that I purchased adobe services on a monthly plan and I am losing the value of BC, what is the compensation for the loss?

Hi Preran,

Thank you for the clarification about the idea for the professional workflow - and the lack of such documentation ...

I do hope that the Adobe Team working on this take into consideration - as wonderful as it is to 'Design for Designers" there are a majority of us out here who despite our possible ability to dive deep into the finesse and possibilities available in XD - we may have neither the time, nor inclination to have to do so in front completing an online website that functions ASAP.

So to hear that there is a way to export the design elements from XD onward is possible is lovely - but not to say that, Dreamweaver is not already set up to magically import - in a straight forward manor, work with and transform the same files into the basis of a functional website on the fly ... thank you very much - to say the very least, is extremely disappointing.

I could not help but pour through the many posts in the forum where people are angry, some considering legal action. I have trusted Adobe for years to be my one stop solution for my publishing needs.  Losing BC, losing Muse, needing to Adopt a new program that has no viable end in site as a developer is really off putting.  I hope you guys come up with a work around that does cause  us to leave and ultimately crush your company.

Instead of just evolving Muse with the abilities of XD. ...Muse XD? well,  a step backward in my opinion.

This is ridiculous. Why Adobe got rid of Muse is just stupid. Design to delivery ... not so much. Waiting for your demise as a company. (maybe not photoshop LOL)

With Muse on its way out it is too bad that xd is not up and running and functional enough to replace it.  It would be a natural transition if I knew in the very near future I would be able to export my design as a robust functional website in xd.  I have a client right now that is wanting a website.  Build it in muse is out of the question even though that would be the easiest for me, I have been looking at "without code" and also "wix" but I don't want to invest time leaning those platforms if in the near future I will be leaving them.  It is not fun being in limbo with no place to land.

I just discovered this new application through a friend of mine who is somewhat of a developer (has a good knowledge of coding including C#, HTML, PHP etc) and read a bit about it and made a mock-up project to get aquainted with the tools since I already use other applications from the Adobe suite. From what I can understand is that this app is used to develop a prototype in terms of design not how the actual app will work (i.e. the coding behind the app itself). I was wondering if there's a simple way that I can export the front end of the app into a program that he then can continue to work on the back end work of the app? Or do we have to create it from scratch on another program? Additionally, if you ever done this what program do you find that is 'user friendly' and good to work with when creating an actual application. Thanks in advance,

Jer

I really love XD And everything that you can do with it to design websites and applications. However with the world doing this no code movement, and companies like webflow and Divi out there. Is there a way that XD can evolve into something like that, where you can design and do the prototype but behind the screens it's creating the code that is needs to a fully functioning website, and with clients you can still send them a prototype before creating the actual website.

Hi,

I recently discovered Adobe XD to create my web design portfolio. I am about ready to export it to become a live website, but now I am scared I don't know how to do that.

What is the best way to convert my Adobe XD website to a live webpage? I have creative cloud, so I am not worried if I have to download another adobe product.

Thanks!

I've got some bad news for you.  XD is merely a prototyping tool.  Ideally, you hand off your prototype to an experienced web developer who can hopefully turn your vision into a working website with HTML, CSS and JavaScript code.  Otherwise, you need good coding skills and an ability to create sites in Dreamweaver or similar code editor.

If not an experienced coder, ditch XD and look at Adobe Portfolio.  It's free with your paid Creative Cloud plan.  You can have a working site up and running in less than 30 minutes. Hosting is included, no coding skills required.

Thanks Nancy! Super frustrating. I was previously using Wix, but switched to XD thinking it would be a better design tool. Turns out it's great for designing, but not for the execution of the website I need.

Yes, Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, etc. are all website builders or content mananagement systems. They are nothing like a design app such as XD. As you said, XD is a great design app... but assumes a developer will turn the design into code to make it a working website. Sorry you had to learn that the roundabout way.
