Overlay over another Overlay

What I am trying to do is, I am opening a dropdown inside a popup. This kind of experience requires overlay over another overlay but I am not able to achieve this. Maybe I am doing something wrong or its not possible. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think you can place an overlay on top of another overlay, but you can mimic it with Auto-Animate - you'd need 3 artboards to create an overlay on an overlay
