I am so curious as to whether or not Adobe will once again support this vibrant, comprehensive and delightful tool. I have enjoyed using it since a beta user back in 2016. I support you Adobe, I support the #AdobeXD product owners and I have trusted their guidance and what they have created. Yes XD can always grow but I still have faith! #uxdesign

I support this. Adobe XD is a very good all-in-one tool that would be a shame to have discontinued. Please keep developing it! Few of the very much needed features are:

I agree, XD is an amazing asset to the creative suite. There has been a lot of development into this tool. From interactive prototyping, sharing, design library building, mobile development and testing and delivery of specs to teams. I think the greatest strength to XD has always been it is connected to other essential design applications from Adobe. It's definitely not perfect, there are some things that could be reworked for better usability for designers but they have always been on the right path for rapid prototyping and delivery to development. I use it daily and will until I can no longer.

It would be nice if Adobe could be clear on their intentions, as a team we were on the verge of switching to Figma but are now unsure, we have a history with XD and many client projects sitting in it. The users would like a say in something that is all about UX.

I highly doubt it. Most of, if not all of the product management has either moved onto new efforts within Adobe or left. I honestly do not see Xd rising from the ashes. I would be looking to migrate your efforts to a new tool.

I like to hear posts like this. I feel very invested in XD, have been thinking about Figma for a while, but XD works well for me and my team. I like using XD as it under the Adobe umbrella and I would hate to lose all the other applications that are housed there. INDD, AI, PSD, Type, even Animate I have use for from time to time. I really don't know if Figma can compete in the long run without Adobe.

We are in the same boat as you, to get slick in an application takes a long time, not only to make the product look good but to be able to work efficiently and deliver on time. Jumping to a new bit of software is a huge step, we don't want to do it to find Adobe have changed their mind and started the ball rolling again with XD.

I belive XD is still faster (than Figma) and the bridge between Illustrator is awsome.

I love to hear this. I have always liked the seamless modes XD has. From design, to prototype interactions to presenting a prototype to jumping on the web/cloud to demo, test or deliver specs. Seemless, efficient and mostly all in XD or Adobe apps. Sketch fell to wayside as compared to this.

Just talked with support since I was still under the idea that Adobe XD was being discontinued (that's the news that's still spreading till this day).

Told me XD is 'still selling' and 'there is support for XD'. Doesn't say anything about 'updates' though. So still drawing a blank there.

But since the merger didn't go through I hope they will rekindle their passion for XD.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Adobe as stated publicly that no further investment into XD was going to happen (see a statement on Bloomberg.com). They are going all in on AI features for other products. There is limited support and if an OS update breaks it, I assume they might address that, but XD is not coming back.

Maybe new approaches to the way companies interact with their customers (such as implementing a.i. models to deliver digital content to individuals based on predictions that account for real-time activity (i.e. user is looking at product x rn. and a popout with an incentive appears) and changes in behavior, or even indirectly correlating user's behavior (been to gym 2x more last week, new girlfirend is GF and gets E-mail with GLueten free protien shakes free trial. ) will change the way user interfaces on the web are designed and "expeiecenced". maybe somewhere in the "adobe Experiece Clould" there is/are or will be some kind of tool(s) that will fill in the gap left by this app? hopefully its not just a 'figma' of my imagination 😉

Please don't end support for XD. I use it every day for the past 8 years. It has so many good use cases. Recently, however, just this week, it has become laggy and difficult to use. I have a handful of client projects that I am in the middle of working on and I rely on the Adobe ecosystem to get this work done. Moving to some other tool makes me consider other options because I feel what I am paying for is the ecosystem of all the apps working together. Please don't turn your back on this wonderful app.

It's "just business". Adobe Xd started falling behind due to bad decisions in its foundation which plagued its advance later on. Other popular tools like Figma, Penpot etc. work in the browser environment, so they don't need to develop 2 versions of the same app (for Mac & Windows). Adobe is headed the same way with their latest apps, which is why they tried to acquire Figma & use their tech. But they lost $1B due to the failed acquisition, and they will not invest more into Xd which has been falling behind every single day since 2021.

Let's be honest - features like Component states were never really implemented properly (instance states don't inherit overrides), the text engine is a mess on Windows & freezes every 5 minutes. The prototypes are static and rigid - stacks don't function in preview mode - only while designing, so you have to make states for every single scenario, which is a waste of time. There's no dark mode. Features we requested for years were never developed.

Figma is miles ahead. Sure, Xd is okay for simpler projects, but when you have to build something complex and maintain a design system it falls short in a major way.

The only attempt I could see fruitful in the UI/UX market is to develop a browser tool which actually uses CSS, but Penpot already implemented that. For Adobe investing in this market they failed entering first with Fireworks and now with Xd is incredibly risky, with multiple very advanced tools with big user bases occupying the space. I don't think they'll go for it. They are focusing on AI right now and lightweight browser apps, probably to compete with Canva and the like.

Thank you. I appreciate your honesty and in-depth response. It provides a much-needed context that was missing for me. The good news is that I don't need to relearn a new piece of software to carry out the work I would normally do in XD. The bad news is not being able to use my Adobe Libraries and the Adobe ecosystem and will need to develop some workarounds in that regard.

Yeah, I followed Xd throughout its development and built my own workflow around it as soon as it was production ready, and I was excited for it for a long time. Finally we had a proper UI & prototyping tool and didn't have to draw designs in Photoshop. But it is what it is. Smaller and more agile developers will outperform slow giants like Adobe, who notoriously don't listen to user demands. Other teams want to make it easy to switch to their tool, so they intentionally have similar interface layouts.

I love XD for creating Ad Visuals, can't imagine using other software, like photshop and illustrator because its so simple to use Xd for quick Visuals. Please continue to develop it!
