Hi there,

How do you get the video playback to stop on the last frame of a video when viewing as a protoype?

For context: I'm adding video banners on my webpage designs, it but ends with the first frame after paying.

any help? tnx! 🙂

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. As of now, we don't have this option available however it does sound like a great feature request so I'll share your feedback with the Engineering team and you can do that too by posting a request here https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007-adobe-xd-feature-requests

This is the best way of sharing the feedback with the Engineering team.

Regards

Rishabh

Hi @mariordzp,

We are sorry for the frustration. We've seen a similar request raised on our XD UserVoice: End Playback of Lottie & Video on last frame – Adobe XD Feedback : Feature Requests & Bugs.

Please submit your feedback and upvote the request to add your voice.

Have you also tried the workaround shared in this post? Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Harshika

And we still can't add gifs since a request in 2017!

Here are two ways to work around this unfortunate video reset limitation in Adobe XD:

1. Change the video to a component with two states. With the second state... transition it to a still image (exact copy) of your last frame. That will bypass the video and keep it from looping back to the start of the video's first frame. (Please fix this Adobe!)

2. Or switch to Prototype mode (with the video selected and then select the little arrow) and change End of Playback to Type: Transition and change the Destination: to a "separate artboard" that contains a still image of your last frame. The second option makes setting up overlay controls (over the still image) easier within that separate artboard. The key to making it all look seamless is to screen shot the very last frame with the same resolution and dimensions so they don't notice any changes going from the video (transitioning) into the still image.

Hey! How would I set the second state to a still image and then how would I transition the first state to the second whilst still flowing smoothly?
