"Include Assets" greyed out when publishing design specs

When I choose Publish Design Specs the Include Assets field is greyed out. Can someone please explain how it works. I read something about layers and selecting artboards, but nothing seems to change the ability to select it.

Best regards,

Henrik

OK, I found the solution - you have to check a litttle symbol on the layer palette for each asset to make it clickable.

'Include assets' is only enabled when the linked artboards or the home page contain any layers or elements which are 'marked for export'. If the elements marked for export are part of any unlinked artboard they seem to be skipped for the publish. This is an observation after trying to publish the specs a few times.

    HI All,

There seems to be some confusion over what is considered as an asset for Design specs.

Please follow the below steps to successfully include assets in Design Specs

    1. Open the layer panel (View>Layers)

    2. The layers panel is contextual and either shows the list of all artboards or the list of all layers in the selected artboard.

    3. Make sure that you are seeing the list of layers on a selected artboard. i.e. Click on any layer in the canvas or double click on the artboard name in the layers panel

    4. Now hover over  the layers that you want to pass off as assets to the developer and click on the "Mark for Batch Export" icon

    5. Open the design specs popover ( File>Share... > Publish Design Specs) to see the "Include Assets"lude  option enabled

Please note that artboards marked for batch export are are not considered as assets on publishing a design specs link. Only layers marked for batch export is considered as asset and subsequenlty made available for download in Design Specs.

    Thanks,

    Harish

This doesn't work for me. It used to before the prior update but the Include Assets box is grayed out no matter what I do. If I mark a folder with asset content and/or the asset inside that folder.

Just to be sure, can you double check your Assets panel to see if there are any assets?
