Hi @Ashok284557520zjw ,

Adobe XD is no longer available for purchase as a single application but will continue to be supported for existing users. XD will continue to be available as part of our Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps subscription. We will continue to support existing Adobe XD customers.

Thanks

Yes it's true. Last year Adobe announced their intent to purchase Figma, so they've ended XD. XD is only getting minor life-support updates and has been removed so people can no longer get new memberships for it (it's only available for those who have it). You should switch to Figma (which is better) as soon as possible. One thing to keep in mind is that Adobe has not yet purchased Figma, because the purchase must still be approved by the the US and EU governments.

Is this still true? Because as of today, in my All Apps subscription, I can't access my Adobe XD (which is still installed on my computer). It wants me to purcause another plan from the launcher. I have had my plan for years and my current subscription is still good for another month or so. I don't know why I suddenly can't access it.

The fact that Adobe representatives are copying and pasting this exact message as a response to all Adobe XD discontinuation questions is very sketchy.

How long will Adobe XD still be available to use for creatives? It's clear that Adobe wants to phase out XD in favor of Figma, but why aren't you keeping your customers updated on the process behind the smokescreen? People need to know what's going on. A lot relies on the use of these applications, and we need to know the reliability of it.

On another note, why is Adobe making users pay for Figma instead of just including Figma as part of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite? If I'm paying for a subscription that gives me access to all Adobe platforms, Figma needs to be part of that package. I'm not going to pay for the entire Adobe Creative Cloud suite, AND then for Figma separately.

I wish that Adobe would be more transparent about this matter.

One issue is due to the legal restrictions while the possible merger is underway. Neither side can't say much.
The merger hasn't happened, and it is looking more and more like it won't, but if it does one would expect Figma to be part of the CC offering at no additional cost. RIght now, they are still their own company, and require their own license to use.
I suspect we will have support for about 2 years, but no official knowledge about that. My hope is once the deal closes or is killed, that Figma release an official import tool for XD files.

That is a good question. I think it still depends if the Figma deal happens. Then we might have an official timeline.

I too have an All Apps subscription and I cannot access XD. So to say it is still available for those that have a current subscription is wrong. If Adobe could correct this, I still need Xd and I don't think I should have to pay more for something I had. If you haven't bought Figma yet, why would you create this vacuum?

This seems to be the new model for All Apps, Charge the same amount but take apps out of the program. Remove support for Dm, but charge for Substance. Remove Xd but charge more for Figma. Adobe is already putting designers out of business with their AI, what customers will you have left to pay your subscriptions when you put us out of work or make it more difficult to earn an income by your cavalier treatment of your user base? So disappointed, but this is not new.

While many things Adobe does makes me mad, I do try to be fair. I usually launch apps from Creative Cloud. That is where Xd has changed the "Open" to "Try". I mistakenly thought I could not access the app anymore. I can however launch the app from the applications folder. So yes, if you had it before, you still have it. When the message was that Xd was no longer part of my subscription that I became upset.

But, Adobe, this was an unforced error. Why do you think of the reaction of your customers last? If you don't want to continuously upset your customers, maybe take a little more time in communicating with them!

My view is that the value of software subscriptions (over outright purchase) is primarily the continuous and free upgrades. Adobe have made it clear that XD is dead and no longer available for sale. This being the case, I feel that it should be made available to existing subscribers at no charge, or perhaps at a severely reduced subscription that simply covers fonts etc included in CC. Charging a subscription for dead software is pretty extortionate imho.
