Unable to drag components into artboard after updating XD to the latest version. (24).

Hi everyone, I'm having a very annoying problem with my components after updating to the latest release v24: I can't drag any component to my artboards anymore!

 

I have a mix of file-specific components and other ones that are in a master-file cloud hosted. Unfortunately none work!

 

Anyone has encountered this issue yet?

That is strange. How are you trying to drag components into the arboard - from the assets panel or CC libraries? I am guessing it is the first, but trying to be sure.

 

Can you provide us with the OS version and build (if Windows) that you are on? It would also help if you could upload your file to a shared location and share the URL with me over a private message.

    Same issue here. External components are breaking all the time. Some times can't even update then 😕😕

    We are sorry to hear you are facing trouble dragging the components into the artboard. In addition to the information asked by Preran. We would like to know a few more details like-

     

    • Is it happening with all the file or with a specific file?
    • Is it happening with the all the components or linked components?
    • What is the OS & XD version of your machine?
    • Would you mind sharing a short video of the workflow? So that we can check and have a better understand about the issue.

    Hi Harshika,

    luckily I managed to solve the problem with your assistance via remote access on my mac.

     

    The problem was that I had a few "broken links" between my component in the asset panel and their cloud document.

    Once I've identified these components I was able to substitute them and then everything worked fine.

     

    So, to answer your questions:

    • Is it happening with all the file or with a specific file?
      • With a specific file
    • Is it happening with the all the components or linked components?
      • With a few linked components
    • What is the OS & XD version of your machine?
      • I'm running the latest catalina and xd versions
