Hi,
I am unable to edit a master component. When I attempt to "Edit Main in source document" an error appears which states:
"Sorry, we can't open this document" with instructions on contacting the owner for access.
The trouble is the error does not tell me which document it is trying to access, so it leaves me in the dark. Has anyone else come across this? How should I fix the issue? Maybe I can pull up additional information somehow, somewhere.
Thank you.
Try hovering over the asset in the Assets panel. Does that show the Source Document or Library name in the tooltip?

Hi,
Thank you for reporting the issue.
You can check source file name from Filter present in Document Asset Panel in Consuming file or right click on linked component under Asset Panel and click on Reveal in Library, it will take you to Library (which is actually source file name).
This kind of issue comes up when Owner shares library with Can Edit access only , where you are able to make changes on component but Owner needs to send file as well.
Could you check if file is present in your Shared with you section or Cloud documents ?
If not, ask Owner to share it with you.
Please respond back if it doen't work out.
Thank you ,

Hi,
Thank you for you response.
a) I did right-click the component and selected "Reveal Component in Assets" which did provide the name of the component, but not the source file name.
b) I will follow up with the admin to review my access.
c) I can see the file that I *think* it is in, shared with me.
How can I see which file that a component is in? The assets panel does not appear to show this.
Thank you.

Strange I know, but I just checked again - when I hover over the link I am giving the name of the "linked"? Library.
This helps narrow it down greatly.
Thanks again Randy.
